Most of my current work contains enamel. Mainly champlevé in silver that has been photoetched to my artwork but I am also doing individual acid etches in my own workshop. I also have work including both cloisonné and plique a jour enamel. If I am not using enamel - or even if I am! - some pieces are decorated with the silversmithing technique chasing. I love earrings. My range includes dangling pairs in various sizes and often in my favourite 'leaf' shape. There are also pairs on posts in various sizes and in all the various techniques. I make all my earrings for pierced ears but would do other backs on special order. Currently I am exploring my medium in a range of pendants which are circular beads hung on a cable chain. They range in size from around three quarters to over two inches in diameter. I also sometimes make pendant which are fitted with brooch backs so they can be worn in either way. I am also making bangles, some simple forged silver ovals, but I also have an unusual range of enamelled bangles in various colours and sizes. Some of my pieces, both earrings and pendants, are based on artwork which is photoetched, a process which gives a precise line to the silver and can be repeated. Others are hand etched here in my workshop and these are all individual. The subsequent enamelling is always different so, in fact, every piece is uniques. The photographs throughout this web site show most of these styles. My pieces range in price from $35 for small post earrings to $300 for an individual etched and enamelled pendant piece. I am currently working mainly in silver but all the techniques I am using would translate well into gold and I look forward to working more in this more glorious metal. |
